Choose home delivery, in a parcel locker, at an agreed location or at a PostNL point.

Once you've set your delivery preferences, any future parcels will be delivered according to your preferences.

You can quickly set and change your delivery preferences via the PostNL app or via your PostNL account.
What is your favourite delivery preference?
Choose from 1 of the default delivery preferences:
- Delivery at your (home) address*
- Parcel locker at home
- Agreed location (e.g. garage or garden)
- A PostNL point near you
*Select delivery to (home) address?
Then you can also choose where we deliver your parcels when you are not at home. You then choose:
- At the neighbours
- At a PostNL point
- At an agreed location around your home (e.g. garage, garden, ...).

In the app go to 'My delivery preferences' via 'Your account'. No PostNL account? Create one easily and quickly!

Then you must also choose where we have to deliver your parcels if you're not home.

These delivery preferences apply to all future parcel deliveries. Your next parcel will be delivered according to your delivery preferences! Doesn't get much easier!

What is an agreed location?
An agreed location is a spot around your home that the deliverer can easily access. This could be your garden, storage box, garage, or a parcel locker at home. Any other location is also possible, as long as it is safe and dry.
If you set the agreed location as your default preference, we will not ring your doorbell first. Your parcels will be delivered directly to the agreed location. If your default preference is home delivery and you set the agreed location as your "not home" preference, we will always ring the doorbell first.
Of course, we ask for your permission before delivering parcels to the agreed location. Parcels that require a signature will only be handed over in person.

We respect your delivery preferences, unless we consider the location unsafe, the parcel is oversized or requires a signature for receipt. In the latter case, the parcel has to be delivered to you in person.
We may only give you the parcel when you:
- Have to sign for receipt.
- You have to show ID.
- You have to be 18 or older to receive the parcel.
It may also depend on what you ordered, such as medicines or food. Read more about the reasons for which your delivery preferences don't apply.
Your new delivery preferences take effect as soon as you've set them. Parcels already in transit will be delivered according to your old preferences. This means that any changes in your delivery preferences will only apply to future parcels.
Your parcel will go to the PostNL point nearest to you, unless it's closed. In the app or via track & trace you can see where we delivered your parcel. Unfortunately, it's not yet possible to choose a PostNL point.
Sometimes we cannot respect your delivery preferences. This doesn't mean something has gone wrong. It usually concerns parcels that we can only deliver directly to the recipient. This is because the webshop requires a signature for receipt, the parcel is oversized or the agreed location is not safe or dry enough. Check here to see what the problem might be.
Your default delivery preference is the location you have chosen where we make our first delivery attempt. Have you chosen delivery at address? Then you also choose where we will deliver your parcel if you are not at home. You can choose delivery at your neighbours, to an agreed location around your home or to a PostNL point.
