Surcharge on parcels sent around the public holidays

From 1 January a surcharge of € 0.25 applies per parcel for parcels shipped during the ‘peak period’. In this period (From 20 November to 31 December 2022) almost twice as many parcels as normal are shipped. To be able to deliver them all on time, extra workers and resources are deployed. Extra storage areas and lorries are hired, sorting centres are open longer, and we make extra journeys – both at night and during the day. All these measures cost money, hence this surcharge.

Whom does this surcharge apply to?

The surcharge applies to everyone sending parcels under contract in 2022 during the peak period from 20 November to 31 December 2022.

Does the surcharge also apply to returns and parcels abroad?

The surcharge applies to all parcels delivered in said period via our network, in other words also for returns and parcels abroad.
